Abstract

The work presents the most significant new features of French legislation and jurisprudence introduced in the year 2010. In particular, the work mainly focuses on (a) the effects of the constitutional reform of 2009 and the relation between the priority issue of constitutionality and the prejudicial question before the EU Court of Justice; (b) the review by the administrative judge of the international treaties to which France is a signatory; (c) the consequences of the decree of 22 February 2010 concerning the competence and functioning of administrative jurisdiction; (d) the question of the wearing of the veil in public and related legal aspects (personal freedom, the lay nature of the State and public order); (e) themes tied to administrative contacts, particularly obligations relating to transparency, publicity and competition.
