Abstract

This article examines the relationship between democracy and legitimacy, based on an analysis of a book on democratic theory written by Geminello Preterossi. The stability of any given democracy depends on the effectiveness and legitimacy of its political system. But legitimacy depends on multiple symbolic variables. The Political Theology is not a relict of the past: instead, it is a big part of the problem of democracy.
