Abstract

Enrico Ferri’s work, The Myth of Western Civilization. The West as an Ideological Category and Political Myth (Nova Publishers, NYC, 2021), represents an opportunity to rethink the notion of “Westµ. Ferri’s reconstruction follows the itinerary of the various cultures and the multiple historical junctions that have determined the Western world as we define it today. According to the author, the undermining of any unilateral vision regarding the genesis of the West turns into a dimension of a myth, or rather into a form of mystification that does not restore the multiple origins of the concept of Western Civilization
