On chambers of commerce, commodity exchanges, Cun, price detection
and setting (J.e.l.: E30; F15; K21; L16; N50)
The article aims to reconstruct the main mechanisms for detecting the prices of goods of the primary and secondary sectors currently adopted in Italy through the national system of the chambers of commerce. An historical and regulatory framework is provided, together with an overview of the more updated stock exchange methods established
abroad for the trading of commodities. An analysis is then dedicated to the ongoing establishment in Italy of Exclusive National Commissions (Commissioni Uniche Nazionali, Cun), in charge for defining the prices of a growing number of agrofood commodities. A proposal is also developed in order to directly apply the antitrust
discipline to public bodies when their conducts might be assimilated to the ones of associations of undertakings.
