Abstract

This paper analyzes the cases, which the Italian competition Authority closed accepting firms' commitments in the period 2014-2016. A comparison with similar cases, closed rejecting such commitments, casts some doubts over the consistency of the approach. This holds even more given the limited information released by the Authority when closing such cases. This also triggers some considerations on how to make such practice more useful to firms and to the application of antitrust law.
