Abstract
We explain the Dual nature of Goal Value (rational & affective) and the problem of how our mind combines these two dimensions in one hybrid value. This is a crucial requirement for Cognitive Architectures. We criticize “Dual Processingµ theories, and we stress the importance of meta-strategies for managing such duality, and the need for a precise cognitive model of goal-processing and affect impact.
