Abstract

Here is presented a brief sketch of the conditions of psychology in Padua and, more generally, in Rome and in Italy when the first degrees in psychology were open fifty years ago. Remembering my personal experience, the psychology tried to present itself since the beginning as a natural science utilizing empirical methods. This goal has been reached only recently. Unfortunately, we have always a gap between the teaching and research supply and the student’s demand centered on clinical psychology
