The quality assessment in the academic settings requires different aspects and criteria, concerning the content of what is evaluated (e.g., scientific products, or teaching, or organizational commitment) and the aim: individual scientific qualification, evaluation of the structures, requests for funding. Some critical issues are highlighted, and the need to cope with them in the interest of the younger generations of scholars and teachers.
