Abstract
The essay is a commentary on Zanzotto's letters to Valeri published in this number of the review. The author illustrates how the literary relationship and friendship between Zanzotto and Valeri began and developed, he analyses Zanzotto's critical essays and writings where he expresses his deep interest in Valeri's poetry and work, together with the admiration for his "first master".
