Abstract
This essay proposes a psychoanalytical reading of Italo Svevo's short stories: "Vino generoso" and "La novella del buon vecchio e della bella fanciulla". Baldi follows Svevo's knowledge of Freud's works and focuses on interpreting the representation of the character's dreams. The essay analyzes first the content of the texts and then demonstrates that the entire structure of the short stories is influenced by psychoanalysis, in particular by oneiric characteristics.
