Abstract

The essay analyses the issue of «anachronism» in relation to the different fields of historiography, philosophy, politics and art. When contemporaneity is conceived of as the site where different times interlaces and are in tension, rather than the last era, the interpretation of anachronism is of paramount importance. In establishing a relation between origin and actuality, anachronism breaks the progressive rhythm of historical succession and creates the possibility of a different becoming.
