Abstract

Pierre Lévy's thesis acquired a crucial role within contemporary debates on the relationship between politics and new media, also in Italy. A systematic analysis of his reflection allows understanding the cultural, cognitive, social and institutional implications of digital technologies and, consequently, to question the form and potentiality of democracy in the age of internet. Through Lévy's analysis it is possible to re-think democracy within the so called "informational society".
