Abstract

The essay focuses on the complex and ambivalent implications of the debate concerning technique, from the criticism moved by the 20th century philosophical discussion to the contemporary evolution of human techno-sciences. The Author regards creativity as the crucial element of the evolution of the debate above mentioned, a peculiar feature both of language and of human practice. In conclusions, the essay analyses the ambivalent ways in which scientific practices face (or deny) the issue of human creativity, looking particularly at cognitive and biologic engineering, and considering the political implications of this ambivalence.
