Abstract

The locution «beni comuni», here ironically «benicomuni» - in short, the questionable Italian translation of the English word «commons» - denotes three sorts of goods: commons in the strict sense, new commons or public services, and global goods. Each of these goods is the subject of a distinct narrative, i.e., a story that simplifies complex problems and makes people stand on the right side of history: a neo-medievalist narrative, a neo-communist, and a neo-ecologist one. But above all, each type of goods requires a distinct institutional regulation: respectively, a local, a national, and a global one.
