Abstract
The paper reconstructs the evolution and consolidation of the normative content of the right to land. Attention is payed to the characteristics of the different sets of internationally adopted instruments which refer to access to land and security of tenure. The paper describes the process as composed of three phases: comprehension, codification and standardization
