Abstract

In this essay we will verify how and to what extent SARS-CoV-2 has affected the concept of Anthropocene, questioning its conceptual foundations. While the undisputed supremacy of Homo sapiens over all other living beings was criticized, a virus was enough, a thing so small as to be invisible to the human eye, to threaten the very survival of humanity, spreading on the entire planet Earth and claiming numerous victims. How does the concept of Anthropocene come out of this frontal impact with SARS-CoV-2?
