Abstract

Bioethical issues are a central subject in order to explain the transformations in Italian society in the 21st century. The paper draws some distinctions between different levels of such transformations following, in particular, the contributions offered by the Courts of Justice to the public discussion on bioethical issues. It also criticizes the idea that some innovations in the jurisprudence constitute a sufficient index of moral progress.
