Abstract

Discussing a possible relation between politics and philosophy, with reference to Furio Cerutti’s Conceptualizing Politics. An introduction to Political Philosophy, this article suggests considering political philosophy to belong in the «bastard» plane (Plato) connecting the history of practices to the history of political theory. This means: i. the necessity of referring to both the history of political concepts and to the history of philosophy; ii. the enhancement of a materialistic-political realistic study of politics and political practices; iii. a notion of philosophy (as well as of intellectual practice and intellectual responsibility) capable of analyzing, discussing and improving its own role in the field.
