Abstract

Stefano Petrucciani illustrates and critically deepens Marx’s thought through the analysis of ten concepts: Alienation, Law, Democracy, Freedom, Revolution, Historical Materialism, Fetishism, Exploitation, Capitalism, and Communism. This analysis is the occasion for a critical evaluation of Marx’s overall thought. In accordance with Petrucciani’s judgment that «communism and freedom are inseparable for Marx», the author believes that Marx’s thought can be interpreted and used for the construction of the idea of a communism of individuals that responds to the individualization of those who, in our society, have reached the level of wealth that Marx considered indispensable for communism
