Abstract
This essay provides new and further details about the first competition for the chair of corporate law, held at the University of Pisa in 1930. At the end of complex events, the contest is cancelled. Carlo Costamagna, a jurist very close to the fascist regime and aspiring to the chair, turns to Benito Mussolini and animates a dispute against scholars accused of being neutral with respect to the new political course.
