Abstract
Every day, all over the world, women of different ages are killed or suffer violence. The question is central in the international political and cultural debate. Historiography has acquired a greater awareness of its role in the deconstruction of stereotypes both on men who exercise violence and on women who suffer it. The essay offers interesting materials for understandings shared mentality
