Abstract

Combining productivity and sustainability is an imperative requirement for the agriculture of the future. If we want to achieve this ambitious goal we must take all the opportunities that scientific and technological development make available to us. Plants genetic improvement can play a considerable role. Today it uses very powerful tools such as genome analysis and genome editing techniques in order to improve crops yields, quality and resistance to biotic and abiotic stress.
