Abstract
One of the three objectives of the «20-20-20» climate-energy-environment package of the European Union is the promotion of renewables. By 2020 the quota of renewable sources should be equal to 20% of energy consumption. This article provides an overview of the technologies for the storage of electric power in view of overcoming two key issues: Production variability and forecast errors.
