Abstract
History is an indispensable discipline to prevent Civic Education from becoming a teaching of moral rules or abstract social and political norms. By historicizing norms and political structures, history forces citizens to take on the task of evaluating imperfect – human – norms and to assume responsibility for choosing between alternative actions
