Abstract

Male domestic violence, especially against women, is mainly addressed from women victims perspective. Despite being the primary perpetrators of violence, violent men are largely overlooked. Yet, reducing violence implies understanding the logic behind it. This article considers the creation of the first center for violent men in Lyon, France. It then presents the key findings of my research on men and masculinity, and how they can help prevent violence against women. It briefly overviews how men react to gender questioning and how it affects the fight against violence. In conclusion, it suggests methods to eradicate systemic violence.
