Abstract

The post-law hypothesis is closely linked to the presupposed concept of law. In the light of an institutional theory of law, the paper suggests that the problem of the end of law is a modern problem, inconceivable for the ancient and medieval legal culture, based on the maxim ubi societas ibi ius.
