Abstract
Through a philological-stylistic analysis, the article means to focus the predominance of the poetic discourse in Hugo von Hofmannsthal's poetry; in particular, it means to discuss the estrangement effect produced by the poetic word if compared to the word of everyday communication. By this point of view, Hofmannstahl's poetry anticipates in a sense certain reflections which would be produced by Russian formalists.
