Abstract

The article focuses on a use of the demonstrative quest- which is rapidly establishing itself throughout the entire area of Italophony and which calls for reflection as it seems, in part, to contradict the grammatical norm. As a matter of fact, the study of this use makes it possible to validate the traditional interpretation of the demonstrative reference as an indicator oriented on an origo coinciding with the utterer. However, it can be seen that the indications are not to be understood in terms of location in the physical space, but on the basis of conceptual domains to be adapted based on the context and the communicative objective.
