Abstract

The Capability Approach as found application across diverse sectors in recent decades, spanning health, education, disability, gender issues, and other realms of profound social significance. It has also been employed to assess the role of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) in human development. This theoretical framework holds promise for examining the impact of Industry 4.0 on work dynamics, which significantly influence the quality of life for workers. This essay aims to explore, albeit in an introductory manner, the potential contributions the Capability Approach can make to a deeper comprehension of the substantial changes underway in the world of work. It aims to elucidate both the strengths and weaknesses of this interpretative framework.
