Abstract

This paper traces some significant moments in Luca Serianni’s intellectual journey. He was a scholar recognized among the greatest historians of the Italian language since the founding of this discipline for the breadth of his research interests and the relevance of the results achieved. He was also an example for the generous attention paid to the training of students, both school and university students and future scholars.
